Libertarian Party of Wisconsin Decries Debate Exclusion
The Libertarian Party of Wisconsin (LPWI) wonders why the organizers of the formal
Presidential debates seem to think that excluding candidates like Libertarian Chase
Oliver, the Green Party's Jill Stein, and independent Cornel West from the debate stage
is acceptable? In an era where a primary debate can have nearly a dozen candidates
on the stage at once, it does seem suspicious to limit the speech of American citizens
simply because they are not a part of the two major parties. "As we see Donald Trump and Kamala Harris debate on ABC, recognize that this
debate is an incomplete one that doesn't tell the full story of this election. By excluding
candidates like myself, ABC does a disservice to the voting public" - Chase Oliver,
Libertarian Party candidate for President
It should not matter if the candidate gets one million votes or one thousand. They have
earned their right to be on the ballot and the voters deserve to hear all platforms that will
be available to them this November. The Commission on Presidential Debates and the
mainstream media networks, by restricting access, are feeding the duopoly that a
growing number of voters are becoming disillusioned with.
